The Federation of German Consumer Organisations and the consumer centres

Across Germany, private households can receive expert energy advice at over 900 advisory centres (in German) and local contact points, such as town halls. For a short consultation or to book an appointment, simply call the central freephone number: 0800 - 809 802 400 (calls are free from German landlines and mobiles). If you only have a quick question or can't visit a centre in person, you can also use the online consultation service. If your enquiry is more detailed, you may be referred for a personal consultation at a local advice centre or an energy check at home. All basic energy advice services provided by the consumer advice centres are free of charge. For at-home consultations, a small personal contribution of €40 is charged. Households on low incomes receive all services completely free.

Energy advice for residential buildings

Major modernisation work on the home should only be carried out following a thorough energy audit that includes a detailed modernisation plan and an assessment of potential energy savings. A qualified energy consultant can prepare an individual modernisation roadmap (iSFP) outlining the step-by-step measures needed to modernise your home. The iSFP then provides a solid foundation for making informed decisions about how best to upgrade your home.
