The services of the German Energy Solutions Initiative are mainly intended for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) offering energy solutions in the fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency, smart grids and storage technologies. The focus is also shifting to new technologies like power-to-gas and fuel cells. In the context of the Initiative, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action wants to help companies enter new markets abroad with the aim to increasingly spread German energy technologies worldwide. In order to better support exports of comprehensive energy solutions, the former Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Export Initiatives were merged and expanded to become the German Energy Solutions Initiative.
The multi-year support strategy for individual target regions consists of the export phases of preparing, entering and securing markets; the German Energy Solutions Initiative offers support services for each phase.
The support measures:
Detailed foreign market information is provided at information events in Germany, in publications on studies and analyses on the website and in the social media.
The German Energy Solutions Initiative offers matchmaking services abroad in the context of business missions organised by bilateral chambers of commerce, together with consultancy on export and project financing in particularly difficult markets.
The Initiative also helps companies in the field of marketing, including participation at trade fairs abroad: participants can take advantage of the possibility to present their products and services at the joint stand "energy solutions - made in Germany" of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. Companies can also showcase their products and services on the German Energy Solutions Initiative's website www.german-energy-solutions.de in a special database.
Dena's Renewable Energy Solutions Programme (RES) presents important reference projects: renewable energy flagship projects for German technologies are installed in selected target countries and advertised to raise public awareness. Projects in the building and industrial sectors that have already been successfully realised abroad are presented at energy efficiency exhibitions in selected foreign markets.
The Project Development Programme (PDP) for developing countries and emerging economies helps German companies to realise specific projects in all market development phases in South-East Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. Furthermore, the Programme is to contribute to fostering technology cooperation and know-how and technology transfer.
The German Energy Solutions Initiative offers specific manager training programmes for foreign executives and innovation seminars in selected universities abroad in the pre-market phase. They aim to promote knowledge on innovative technologies in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency and thus to improve the environment for exports of technologies from Germany.
