The AmmoniaStorage project is funded as part of the German government's National Hydrogen Strategy and is in line with the joint memorandum of understanding between the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and the Ministry of Energy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for cooperation in the field of hydrogen. The aim is to develop and construct a new plant with two flat-bottomed temperature tanks for ammonia storage in Saudi Arabia. The project is planned as part of the establishment of a new metropolitan region for renewable energy and megacity ‘NEOM’. With these activities, the project contributes to the global development of the necessary new infrastructure for the future global hydrogen economy.
